The Butz Family of Companies has been honored with two prestigious Lehigh Valley Business (LVB) Top Projects awards for 2025. Our projects, the Allentown Panel Shop and the Da Vinci Science Center, have been recognized for their excellence in construction and innovation.
The Allentown Panel Shop, a state-of-the-art facility, showcases our commitment to quality and precision in construction. The project included major renovations of a 125,000 SF existing manufacturing plant that was revitalized into a new manufacturing facility for Eastern Exterior Wall Systems. Before our team began working on the project, large segments of the roof had already collapsed, leaving a large void for all of nature’s elements to wreak havoc inside the building. The team consistently rose to the challenge of adapting to design modifications, accommodating varying field conditions, and managing schedule constraints to successfully meet the owner’s move-in date. The building was gutted, and a new roof was installed along with electrical and shell improvements. These upgrades transformed the structure into a new panel shop manufacturing facility.
The Da Vinci Science Center, another award-winning project, is a new 67,000 SF interactive science center, highlighting our dedication to creating spaces that inspire and educate. The center features a large, immersive human body exhibit, a Lehigh River Watershed exhibit with live North American River Otters, and a media production studio. The center also includes the Da Vinci STEAM Learning Center, serving as a secondary campus for Allentown School District’s Central Elementary School with classrooms, a Fab Lab, and a Little Learners Lab. This center is a testament to our innovative approach and our focus on community enrichment.
The awards were presented at the Real Estate & Development Summit and Top Projects event on March 12, 2025 at DeSales University. This event brought together industry leaders to celebrate the best building and construction projects in the area over the past year. We are incredibly proud of our team and their hard work on these projects. These awards are a recognition of our commitment to excellence and our ongoing efforts to push the boundaries of what is possible in construction.
