The historic old Gallery underwent a complete redesign into a transformative mixed-use facility. The Fashion District Philadelphia project covers three city blocks and serves as a crucial connection between the SEPTA Regional Rail lines in Jefferson Station at 11th Street and the PATCO and SEPTA Market-Frankford stations at 8th Street. The phased project involved interior demolition along with MEPFP enabling work and upgrades to vertical transportation, including new elevators and escalators and modernization of the existing freight elevators. A new street level, glass main entrance, the CUBE, is a freestanding structure with a height of 60 feet and was created at the northwest corner of 9th and Market Streets replacing the sunken entrance. Accessible storefronts, sidewalk cafés, a new streetscape, digital signage and graphics complement existing office space.
