This project was part of the Libraries 2020 initiative which aimed to expand student group and collaboration areas and improve pedestrian traffic flow. This project helped improve accessibility between the Paterno and Pattee Libraries at University Park. The library’s entire ground floor west was renovated and renamed the Collaboration Commons. Extra electrical outlets encourage students to bring their own devices when working in the space. Open seating tables and a flex-use multipurpose room foster collaboration and group study.
