This year, we are proud to announce a major milestone: Butz Enterprises has recorded the lowest Experience Modification Rate (EMR) in company history—0.513. This achievement reflects our proactive safety practices and is a testament to the diligence of every employee, trade partner, and safety leader across the enterprise.
Our safety culture begins long before boots hit the ground. It starts with pre-qualification processes, pre-bid procedures, and pre-construction meetings. Every project is supported by a site-specific safety policy tailored to the unique risks and requirements of the job. We maintain this culture through weekly superintendent inspections, monthly stand-down events, and regular toolbox talks and foreman meetings. Safety representatives and superintendents provide continuous on-site monitoring, while subcontractors undergo thorough safety evaluations during the bidding process to ensure alignment with our standards from day one.
These efforts are reinforced by our formal partnerships with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In 2025, Butz Enterprises launched two Strategic Partnerships—one for the LVH–Muhlenberg Emergency Department Expansion and another for Penn Medicine Montgomeryville. These collaborations mark a significant step forward in proactive safety leadership, fostering engagement with OSHA, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania OSHA Consultation Program to eliminate serious workplace hazards and reduce injury rates across the enterprise.
