Employees from across the Butz Family of Companies gathered at the Lancaster County Convention Center for our annual Tri-Company event, which focused this year on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Modeled after industry conferences such as the Lean Construction Institute Congress, the Fall 2026 event, called the Butz Innovation Summit, featured a keynote presentation, employee-led breakout sessions, innovation exhibits, and a panel discussion highlighting how new ideas, emerging technologies, and proven processes are shaping the future of construction at Butz.
The event opened with remarks from Mike and Steve Butz, who emphasized the importance of innovation as a strategic priority and encouraged attendees to continue challenging conventional thinking, sharing knowledge, and seeking new ways to create value for clients and project teams. Employees then heard from keynote speaker James Pease, a nationally recognized Lean Construction and Integrated Project Delivery leader, who shared insights on collaboration, leadership, and building high-performing teams.
Throughout the afternoon, employees participated in breakout sessions covering a variety of topics, including technology, project innovation, Lean practices, Conditions of Satisfaction, and other initiatives that are helping teams deliver stronger project outcomes. Presenters shared real-world examples from active projects and encouraged open discussion about challenges, lessons learned, and future opportunities.
In addition to the educational sessions, employees had the opportunity to network and reconnect with colleagues while exploring exhibits that showcased tools, technologies, and processes being implemented across the organization.
The summit concluded with a panel discussion and closing session that reinforced the organization’s commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration. Attendees were encouraged to take what they learned back to their teams and continue contributing to a culture where innovation is embraced at every level of the company.
As innovation continues to play an increasingly important role in the construction industry, the summit serves as another example of the Butz Family of Companies’ commitment to investing in its people, advancing new ideas, and driving excellence across the enterprise.
