Renovations were made to this former Salvation Army Community Center in Northeast Philadelphia which stood vacant for 3 years. The existing two-story building on a tight urban site was renovated to become a new Education Center providing education to under-resourced communities. Features included roof replacement and façade restoration, new flooring, windows, doors, stair railings, ceilings, and light fixtures, HVAC systems replacement, including compressors and controls, elevator repair, and addition of a new stair lift. The school houses classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, multi-purpose room, an adult education area, teacher’s lounge and faculty offices. A subsequent project involved interior renovations and a classroom repurposed and converted into a The Quint Learning Center.
