Butz celebrates Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School groundbreaking

Butz and project stakeholders celebrated the groundbreaking of Lehigh Valley Academy’s “forever home” in Bethlehem. Renovations to the former FLSmidth office building started in March 2022. The interior spaces are being retrofitted to create a new state-of-the-art educational environment that will include 129 classrooms, offices, lounges, conference rooms, cafeteria/kitchen and more.

The Phase II addition of the $65 million project will include a gymnasium, locker rooms, flexible auditorium space and utility relocation. The gym will allow students to participate in more athletic opportunities.

Following the groundbreaking, the Butz construction team led stakeholders on tours of the site.

Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School (LVA) is an accredited, independent, and non-profit public charter. It serves over 1,800 students from 16 different school districts in the Lehigh Valley. LVA is the only fully-authorized International Baccalaureate World School in Pennsylvania that offers an IB continuum to all students in grades K-12. LVA emphasizes inquiry-based learning and critical thinking to prepare a student for higher education and the twenty-first century globalized environment.
