Hurley recognized as a 2025 Woman of Influence

Christie Hurley has been named one of 2025’s Women of Influence by Lehigh Valley Business. Christie is a Senior Project Manager with Alvin H. Butz and has more than 12 years of experience within the construction industry. In her 6 years with our enterprise, Christie has played a crucial role in many local projects for B. Braun, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Lehigh University, and Lehigh Valley Academy. Two of Christie’s notable projects are the Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School and B. Braun 939 Expansion. The charter school involved significant renovations, including the addition of 129 classrooms, a gymnasium, and other facilities, serving over 1,800 students. The B. Braun 939 Expansion worth $200 million was a 310,000 square feet addition to their manufacturing facility. During the project, she was directly responsible for all MEP work and coordinated all the above ceiling work.

Within the Lehigh Valley community, Christie is an active member of CREW Lehigh Valley. She is passionate about sparking interest in the construction industry for younger generations. She has taken many opportunities to talk to students in the local school districts, including Lehigh Valley Academy, about careers in the construction industry. Christie is also the small business owner of Threads By Gram, an embroidery company based in the Lehigh Valley named after her mom, Gram. What started in 2020 as a quarantine adventure, quickly grew into working with customers to connect their story to a piece of fabric through embroidery.

Christie is a graduate of Penn State University, earning an integrated master’s and bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering with a focus in construction management.

Christie and the other women honorees will be recognized at the Women of Influence Awards ceremony on May 14 at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.
