Alvin H. Butz Inc. has recently become the first Approved Blue Zones Worksite in Allentown. As a Blue Zones Worksite, Butz promotes healthy choices for its employees using Blue Zones lifestyle principles as guidance. Over the course of the summer, Butz supported employees in their efforts to help achieve this designation. To encourage healthier eating, internal meetings and lunches provided more fruit and vegetable options. Scheduled weekly lunch hour walking Moais promoted movement, and the company’s culture of community and volunteerism builds and fosters social connections.
The Blue Zones Project team and Mayor Tuerk joined Butz colleagues as they celebrated this achievement for the company and the City of Allentown.
