Alexander Building Construction Co. Announces Promotions in Harrisburg and State College Offices

HARRISBURG

Daniel Flickinger has been promoted to Project Executive. As Project Executive, he is responsible for oversight of the construction team and ensures everyone involved in the project remains sensitive to goals. Dan earned his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University, Healthcare Construction Certificate from The American Society for Healthcare Engineering, certification from the Construction Management Association of America, and LEED credentials. Dan is an active member of the Lean Construction Institute and has appeared as a guest speaker at several of the organization’s regional and national events.


Justin Wingenfield has been promoted to Senior Project Manager. As Senior Project Manager, he will oversee the preconstruction and construction project operations and is the primary contact for the owner. He also facilitates teamwork and collaboration among all stakeholders. Justin earned his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University.


John Edleman has been promoted to Project Manager. He works with preconstruction services staff and the design team to develop the schedule, construction plan, and phasing. During construction, John manages the construction and directs the work of specialty subcontractors and personnel. John earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.


Chase Vilga has been promoted to Senior Project Engineer. As Senior Project Engineer, he is responsible for checking, tracking and monitoring all shop drawings and submittals, tracking all RFI’s, assisting in updating CPM construction schedules, and attending weekly trade contractor coordination meetings. Chase earned his B.S. in Structural Design and Construction Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

STATE COLLEGE

Mike Sgriccia has been promoted to Project Executive. As Project Executive, he is responsible for oversight of construction teams and ensures client satisfaction. Mike earned his M.S and B.S. in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, Engineer-in-Training certification, Healthcare Construction Certificate from The American Society for Healthcare Engineering, LEED credentials, First Aid & CPR certifications, and OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications. In 2018, Mike was named the inaugural Keystone Contractors Association Top Young Leader award that recognizes emerging professionals who play critical roles in construction. He has volunteered with Leadership Centre County, United Way’s Young Leaders Society, Clearwater Conservancy, and the Board of Directors for the Builders Association of Central PA. Mike was selected as a 2021 Foremost Under 40 by Pennsylvania Business Central.


Karen Mayes has been promoted to Senior Project Manager. As Senior Project Manager, she is responsible for total project management throughout preconstruction and construction phases to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget and is the primary contact for owners. A team player, Karen holds an excellent track record of lean construction practices and strong working relationships with owners, architects, and engineers, resulting in successful construction experiences. With a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Engineering Leadership Development both from The Pennsylvania State University, Karen has over 24 years of experience overseeing more than a billion dollars of construction projects for both public and private sector clients. Karen holds certifications for OSHA 8 and OSHA 30 and First Aid & CPR. Karen is a past graduate of Leadership Centre County Class of 2020/21 and the Penn State LeaderShape® Institute. She is also a figure skating instructor at Penn State.


Dennis Walter has been promoted to Senior Project Manager. As Senior Project Manager, he will oversee the preconstruction and construction project operations and is the primary contact for owners. He also facilitates teamwork and collaboration among stakeholders. Dennis earned both Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering degrees from The Pennsylvania State University with focus and emphasis on construction, Engineer-in-Training certification, Lean Construction certification from the Associated General Contractors of America, Remote Pilot certificate through the FAA’s Small UAS Rule (Part 107), and OSHA 10 certification.


Jake Ergler has been promoted to Project Manager. He works with preconstruction services staff and the design team to develop the schedule, construction plan, and phasing. During construction, Jake manages the on-site team and directs the work of specialty subcontractors and personnel. Jake earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He earned his OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications and First Aid & CPR certifications.


Dave Sillner has been promoted to Senior MEP Project Manager. He is responsible for the development of budget estimates, value engineering, and constructability review for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and associated control systems. Dave also manages ongoing construction projects and leads commissioning and validation. He has been a lead Project Manager on several energy savings programs and managed process equipment for projects. Dave earned his B.S. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.


Mayone Sallows has been promoted to Regional Safety Manager. She is proficient in the areas of occupational safety and health management, construction/emergency management services, safety prevention programs, and worker’s compensation claims management. Mayone earned her B.S. in Safety Management from Mansfield University, OSHA 500 & 501 certifications, Construction Health & Safety Technician certification, First Aid & CPR certifications, 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response certifications, ASME Rigging Trainer Development, Crosby Advanced Rigging Concepts certification, ATSSA Traffic Control Technician PA State Specific certification, and CAWP Flagger Train the Trainer certification.


Brad Tyler has been promoted to Senior Restoration Project Manager. As Senior Restoration Project Manager, he will oversee the preconstruction and construction project operations and is the primary contact for the owner on his projects. He also facilitates teamwork and collaboration among all stakeholders and ensures project success and customer satisfaction. Brad studied Business and Economics at Allegheny College of Maryland. He is licensed in Property & Casualty in PA and MD. He is an appointed agent with a half a dozen insurance companies. Brad is a member of Rotary International.


Bruce Mills has been promoted to Assistant Superintendent. He has more than two decades of construction experience. Bruce executes the construction work plan as developed by the project management team. Trade contractor workmanship and materials are inspected for compliance with specifications and contract plans. As a member of the Alexander team closest to the action, Bruce reinforces our Quality Assurance and Safety Program throughout the project. He has been involved in rooftop and mechanical replacements in downtown State College for the past three years. Bruce earned his OSHA 30 certification and First Aid & CPR certifications.
