We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Emily Lowe to Director of Lean. Emily joined us in 2018 and her passion for Lean was evident from the start. In 2021, she took on the role of Enterprise Lean Champion, significantly enhancing our understanding and implementation of lean principles on many of our projects. She has integrated herself into over 25 project teams, presented to 14 clients, and continues to provide bi-monthly training to our owners, including Penn State University, Penn Medicine, Penn State Health, and Geisinger Health System.
In 2022, Emily became the second person, and the first woman in the country to earn the Lean Construction Institute’s (LCI) Certified Practitioner in Construction (CPC) certification. She has also achieved several other certifications, including the LCI-Certified Practitioner in Design (CPD-SME), AGC-CM Lean, AGC CM-Lean Lead Instructor, Predictive Index (PI) Talent Optimization Leader, PI Engagement and Productivity, PI Team Performance, and PI Leadership and Management certifications. As an approved LCI Instructor, Emily has presented and taught classes at LCI’s national conference for four consecutive years and has guest lectured at Penn State University for the past four years. She also leads LCI’s Mid Atlantic Community of Practice, promoting Lean construction within our region.
Emily has provided invaluable training to our teams, our clients, and our partners, establishing Butz as the regional leader in Lean construction practices. She is a nationally-recognized leader in Lean practices and has been invited to speak at numerous venues. Her contributions have advanced our teams, set us apart from our competitors, improved our project delivery, and helped us secure several large projects including 2 recent IPD projects.
